fugitive vs. x-men

This is not about the upcoming x-men film

This is about me and my knack for watching tv series...

i was so into heroes as they showed it in RPN 9. i love peter petrelli's character definitely. and how well the writers knit the mystery behind the so-called genetic evolution is so GREAT!

well, that was until i saw prison break...although the local tv networks did not buy the rights to gain airtime for the show, i stumbled upon the dvd of prison break season 1 and 2. and boy did i have one hell of a marathon!!! Thanks to Filipino ingenuity.

so here's the comparison.

• Prison break wonderfully crafted the supporting facts for the storyline..low latenet inhibition, low self-worth, depth of the characters, and the company's conspiracy theory ek-ek. You would probably think it was possible, the escape and everything in between.
• Heroes has a great storyline, but i bet it can never come close to reality, the genetic evolution concept was not taken in GREAT CONSIDERATION...And i just find the bunch of characters a poor imitation of X-men minus professor xavier.
• The death of some heroes' characters and then putting them back just to win tv ratings creates a spectrum of doubt to me. Are we in for the money that we loss our audience's senses? (this is what most Filipino tv series is guilty of, they make incoherent storylines just to prolong the series) SO unlike prison break that they break the characters and give me a ride that i will never fathom.
• The soundscore for prisonbreak creates a trademark for the series! Just like Knightrider did for us back in those days.
• Both series actually star smoldering man, a must if you want to target the AMerican population.

now where did i develop this interest for tv series?hmm...if i were to go back in history, McGyver started it all. That would be another topic eh.. that's it for now.
